Morgan had feeding issues from day one. She screamed everytime we tried to feed her, and arched her back. Between feedings she was generally a cranky baby, slept terribly, and ate terribly. I heard her gasp and choke on nothing frequently, which I later learned was silent reflux and aspiration into her lungs.
Her pediatrician at the time refused to listen, and wrote it off as colic. This mother, who is also a RN, BSN knew better.
I went to searching the Internet daily for hours while I held my crying baby in my arms. That's when I discovered Marci kids off of a baby center post. Sadly I learned they didn't exist anymore. So during this month, we fired our pediatrician, found a new one, and got on tons of medications that were not helping. The worst part was trying to space prescription medications around her feeding schedule. Waiting 30-45 minutes for the most effectiveness while she screamed in hunger was not ideal. This was really awful in the middle of the night, cause that was the time I had to stay up and wait to feed her.
Finally one day on baby center I read that a telemedicine practice called Infant Acid Reflux Solutions had taken up the project that the Marci kids site and the University of Missouri abandoned and were recommending similar and just as effective products! I was thrilled to try the product! We ordered TummyCare Z at first. While it helped her upper reflux, her lower bowels weren't ready for it. She was a little gas machine. So we switched to the TummyCare Max (now TCMax) with omeprazole, and have not looked back since!!
We no longer use prescription medications at all. We no longer have to space around the feedings as TC Max allows it to be given at the same time as feedings. We don't hear her choking or gurgling. She eats better and is beginning to get excited when she sees food!
The product is affordable, and easy to use. We love it, and we thank Infant Acid Reflux Solutions and Dr Tamika!
