My daughter was born on October 9, 2009. She always had trouble taking a bottle (I breastfed and did not bottle feed often), but when I did she would choke. I bought preemie nipples which helped, but I still could not figure out why this was happening.
She then started to display Sandifers symptoms. I took her to her pediatrician and numerous Pediatric Gastroenterologists and was prescribed Zantac and then Solutabs. The Solutabs did nothing to control her reflux. She continued to aspirate and had pneumonia twice. She had the barium testing which showed she had silent reflux. She even had a swallowing study because of the aspiration pneumonia and showed she would reflux and aspirate into her lungs. I kept researching on BabyCenter and found the Reflux Rebels group. I kept hearing stories about Bufferbabies that was sold through the University of Missouri with the guidance of Dr. Jeffrey Phillips (similar product is TCMax that Dr. Prince and Infant Acid Reflux Solutions recommends today).
I was nervous to use a product from the internet without my Pediatrician’s consent so I took all the literature to her and she would not read it. I could not allow my baby to continue to suffer so I bought Bufferbabies and then BellyBuffers when she was 4 months old and never looked back.
Her reflux symptoms disappeared almost immediately with Bellybuffers. I told her pediatrician what I was using and I stopped seeing the gastroenterologist. She was happy, content, eating, drinking, sleeping baby. I was finally able to wean her off the medication at her 1 year birthday (October 2010).
I can only imagine how scary the first year of her life would have been if I did not find this product.
I am currently trying to get pregnant again. I do not know what I would do if I could not get this product if and when I become pregnant again.
Thank you for all you do!
