Happy at 11 months old!
Ever since Chelsea was born, she spit up. Not a little bit, but probably half of the volume she was eating. It was sad and we didn’t know how to help her. We barely left the house because every time we stepped out the door, she would spit up all over me, her or both of us and we would have to turn around and change our clothes. We had mountains of laundry and our clothes were always wet even though we changed at least six times a day! Talk about stressful. I had a lot of anxiety about other people holding her because I worried she would ruin their clothes. I figured there was nothing to be done about it and just hoped the time she outgrew it would come quickly. How sad to wish away such a sweet and precious stage of your baby’s life.
At her 5 month appointment she projectile spit up all over the floor 3 times before the Dr even came in to see us. The nurse was present and voiced some concern. Her Dr said even though she was still gaining weight, he was concerned that she was uncomfortable so he put her on Omeprazole but a very low dose. We were happy to try it and get some relief for our girl. Well two days on the low dose of medication, she was up screaming around the clock and it was obvious that the situation had gotten much worse. That sleepless night I sat up crying and rocking her and searching the Internet for a solution. I didn’t understand how the medicine could make things worse. That night I found the infant acid reflux solutions website and read everything I could. Finally something that made sense! I could see that the incorrect dose could in fact make things much worse and I filled out the questionaire. They responded the next day and helped us to see the benefits of Marci dosing and of TCMax. I printed off a bunch of info and brought it to our Dr. He said he was onboard with the suggested medication at the Marci dosing level and wrote a prescription for her right away! We started the Marci dosing and TCMAX just before she turned six months old. Although the acid battle was tough, I was confident we were doing the right thing and the best thing for our baby which made it easier to get through. It took a full 3 weeks to see an improvement but we haven’t looked back since!
The Facebook group was such a huge support through the entire process. When I had questions or concerns, they were answered and addressed. The other parents were so helpful and reading their stories gave me hope when things looked bleak. It was such a great support system for us in the early days when we were uncertain. I can’t thank the other parents enough.
I’m happy to say that we now have a happy, healthy, ornery baby girl who is nearly 15 months old. We have begun the weaning process and it is going well. We tried weaning a few times and teething always caused issues to flare back up. So she finally now has a break from teething and we are happy that soon she will be off of all medication. I am so grateful for TCMAX and the Infant Acid Reflux Solutions team. They helped us enjoy the rest of Chelsea’s baby stage! We no longer smell like spit up, no longer have to scrub our carpets daily, no longer change clothes six plus times a day and no longer have a laundry mountain to deal with! This medication helped her feel better and it helped me to be a better mom simply because I was able to enjoy it more. Thank you thank you thank you.
